Rita Kilpatrick

Ms. Kilpatrick has twenty years experience in public policy and project management and seven years experience in the field of education. She has worked in the energy and environmental industry as a public advocate, consultant and educator at the graduate, undergraduate and K-12 levels. Her employers have included the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, the Institute for Social Ecology, the Lamoille Regional Solid Waste Management District and the Vermont Department of Public Service. She has directed and supervised a range of projects to advance clean energy in Georgia that address water quality and air quality concerns. Her areas of focus in Georgia have included government and community relations, fundraising, project implementation, team and volunteer management, communications, and financial oversight. She has facilitated and coordinated strategy meetings, public forums and regional conferences on topics including green energy, energy efficiency and waste reduction practices. Ms. Kilpatrick has worked for both state and local agencies in drafting portions of plans focused on energy conservation, solid waste management and land-use management. She received an M.S. in Appropriate Technology and Energy Management from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in mathematics from DePauw University.
