ATLANTA MAYOR SHIRLEY FRANKLIN TO DELIVER KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT 2ND ATLANTA INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL TRADE MISSION
ATLANTA, GA, September 28, 2009-Mayor Shirley Franklin will deliver the keynote address at the Recognition Luncheon for the 2nd Annual Atlanta International Environmental Trade Mission on October 7th, 2009 at the World Trade Center in downtown Atlanta. Mayor Franklin’s address will follow the opening address on Tuesday, October 6th, to be delivered by Consul General, Stephen Brereton, Consulate General of Canada.
Joining Mayor Franklin on October 7th will be Québec Government Delegate, Ginette Chenard and Consul General Reda Mansour, State of Israel and Dean of the Consular Corp of Georgia.
Additionally, the Honorable Lisa Borders, City Council President, City of Atlanta and Lutz H. Görgens, Ph.D., Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, who will speak about the Transatlantic Climate Bridge, will be the featured speakers for the Welcoming Breakfast on October 7, also at the World Trade Center from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m.
Other speakers for the ETM include: Jorge Fernandez, VP Global Commerce, Metro Atlanta Chamber, Kristian Wolf, President and CEO, German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern United States, Inc., and Peggy McCormick, President, Atlanta Development Authority and Metro Atlanta Chamber .
There will be 3 panel discussions on Wednesday.

The Environmental Trade Mission (ETM) will bring together state and local governments, metro area companies and organizations and 14 international companies, including representatives from Canada, Germany and Uganda, who specialize in green products and services worldwide. The Mission’s goal is to facilitate international commerce and investment by working with the various Atlanta-based consulates, bi-national organizations and chambers of commerce to identify overseas companies and match them with the appropriate Atlanta-based entities.
The Trade Mission will span five days, October 5th through October 9th and will include presentations and meetings on sustainability and clean technology products, services and initiatives.

The 2nd Atlanta International Environmental Trade Mission is presented by the Atlanta Development Authority and the Metro Atlanta Chamber, with Honorary Chair, Mayor Shirley Franklin. The Environmental Trade Mission 2009 will focus on Clean Water and Wastewater Systems, Innovative Waste Management and Cutting Edge Technologies for Green Buildings.
