Local Goverments Granted New Funding Opportunities for Environmental Projects and InitiativesThe American Recovery and Reinvestment Act provides myriad opportunities for environmental funding for local governments including Energy Efficiency and Community Block Grants, the State Energy Program, Weatherization Assistance Program, EPA Diesel Emission Reduction Act Grants, Alternative Fueled Vehicles Pilot Grant Program (DOE Clean Cities Program), Transportation Electrification, and Clean Water and River Restoration Funding. The City of Atlanta has been allocated $6 million and is currently determining how this funding will be optimally directed and utilized.
