International Participant Spotlight: Sanexen
We are proud to have a company attending this year’s trade mission which is dedicated to improving municipalities’ water service and cleaning up the environmental damage from years’ past. Sanexen is a service company specialising in the structural rehabilitation of water mains and in the remediation of contaminated sites. Created in 1985 and acquired by its staff in 1991, Sanexen develops innovative technologies and performs large-scale work throughout North America.
Sanexen offers an experienced team of one hundred professionals, skilled in the various branches of engineering and sciences and specializes in the execution of Field work. The multidisciplinary team elaborates and carries out projects meeting the specific needs of clients while respecting all regulatory requirements.
In 1997, Sanexen developed an interest in the trenchless rehabilitation of distribution system of water mains. Following three years of research and development and pilot projects, Sanexen started commercially rehabilitating water mains in the year 2000 with the Aqua-Pipe® technology. The product has proven itself in over 275 miles of rehabilitated water mains in North America.
Sanexen’s crews install the product in Quebec, Canada, and licensed installers carry in their respective territories to cover the rest of North America.
By developing Aqua-Pipe in the mid-nineties, Sanexen provided water utilities with the possibility of eliminating water main leaks and breaks without the need to replace all of their existing water mains. This not only provided direct construction cost savings, but also allowed them to save an important amount of socio-economic impacts to the population. Furthermore, the technology provides cost benefits to the owners but also allows utilities to save an enormous amount of carbon gas emissions when compared to traditional replacement methods. In fact, carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by more than eighty-five percent when compared to traditional construction methods. In addition, the technology will extend the life of the old existing water mains by more than fifty years.
Sanexen’s leadership would like to meet the decision makers of city water departments or water utilities (including military bases, universities, etc.) and possibly their technical department representatives: water commissioners, mayors, engineering directors, water works general managers. They are interested in providing custom solutions.
Successful in other areas company spokesperson Lucie Gendron said the company is eager to attend ETM2010 because of the many opportunities it offers “to help us introduce our product in the southern states by meeting with water utilities decision makers.
